DTPA-Na5 can quickly form water-soluble complexes with calcium, magnesium, iron, lead, copper, manganese and other ions, especially for high-valent color-developing metals.

  It is widely used as hydrogen peroxide bleaching stabilizer synergist，water softener，auxiliary additives for textile and printing and dyeing industry，reference reagents for analytical chemistry，chelating titrants.
